Plantain
Plantain is the first "weed" that we discovered on our homestead. At a homeschool playgroup, one of the little girls got stung by a bee. Her mom found a plantain leaf, chewed it up, and spit it on her daughter's sting. She was making a poultice, but I didn't understand that at the time. A couple minutes later, her daughter was back to playing with all the other kids. We instantly needed to know what that plant was and how to identify it. As soon as we got home, we started walking our property and discovered that this plant was all over our homestead. Since we have bees on our property, we knew this plant was going to be an important part of our homestead and remedies. Kai, our middle child, got stung by a bee and we put this plant to the test. And what do you know?! It Worked!! We started foraging, drying, and infusing this plant!
